FFIVDS Lifefont

Lifefont as seen in Final Fantasy IV DS.

Lifefont (HP回復移動, HP Kaifuku Idō?), otherwise known as Move-HP Up (歩くとHP回復, Aruku to HP Kaifuku?) and HP Stroll, is a recurring ability in the series. While active, the user will recover HP while walking on the field. This ability is best used in conjunction with the abilities Encounter Half and No Encounters. There is also an MP variant of the ability, called MP Stroll, which first appeared in Final Fantasy X.

Appearances

Final Fantasy IV

Lifefont has been mistranslated, this ability is actually suppose to be called Absorb. While not an ability usable by the party, Lifefont is an enemy ability used by Black Knight, Fell Knight, and Succubus. It restores HP equal to 1/3 of the user's max HP, and is often used as a Counter to an attack that brings it down to HP Critical.

Final Fantasy VI

The Tintinabar relic restores HP every step equal to the character's Stamina divided by four. It only uses base Stamina and does not factor in bonuses from equipment. Tintinabar is received as an award for sending letters for the wounded soldier in Mobliz, getting a score of 77 points or higher during the banquet with Gestahl, or by betting a Growth Egg, Miracle Shoes or Megalixir at the Dragon's Neck Coliseum.

Final Fantasy VII

The accessory Cat's Bell allows the wearer gain HP as they walk on the field. Every step heals 2 HP rounded up to the next even HP value. Because the accessory only heals to even HP, it is impossible to attain All Lucky 7s through its use. Cat's Bell is only acquired by playing the Chocobo Racing minigame in Gold Saucer. If a character in Death status has this accessory equipped, the status is bypassed and they'll move straight out of it into HP Critical, essentially removing the need for Phoenix Down items outside of battle.

Final Fantasy VIII

The GFs Tonberry, Cactuar and Bahamut can learn the support ability Move-HP Up for 200 AP. All GFs have the trait innately, recovering HP as the party walks around the field.

Final Fantasy X

HP Stroll is an auto-ability that can be found on dropped armor, or customized to an armor with Stamina Tablet items. The character with the respective equipped armor in the current active battle party will gradually recover HP as the party moves about the field.

There is also an MP variant of the ability, called MP Stroll, which functions identically but increasing the character's MP.

Final Fantasy X-2

HP Stroll is an ability learned by the Trainer dressphere for 20 AP. It can also be accessed via the accessory Heady Perfume, and Cat's Bell and the Garment Grid, Wishbringer.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Lifefont, also known as Move-HP Up, is a movement ability in Final Fantasy Tactics. The Monk class learns it for 300 JP. With this ability, units will gain approximately one-tenth of their maximum HP (rounded up) if they move. Zalmour has this ability.
