Levin sickness is an ailment in Final Fantasy XIV, afflicting the people of the Ninth. It is caused by the overaspecting of internal aether towards lightning due to the tilt towards lightning of the Ninth's entire aethersphere. Prior to the events of Dawntrail, levin sickness was incurable.
As it is similar to tempering, as well as the creation of voidsent and sin eaters, since both conditions are based on imbalances of different aetherial aspects, levin sickness can be cured through the use of porxies designed by Alisaie Leveilleur.[1] Upon discovering this, Alisaie spends time curing the inhabitants of Solution Nine.[2]
