Etymology[edit | edit source]

Leshy was a Slavonic trickster spirit that roamed forests and made travelers lose their sense of direction, and protected wild animals and the woods. It also has a wife, Leshachikha, and children, the Leshanki.

In the older translations, Leshy was called Weeper. Weeper is a person who cries, creatures or entities who cries are found in mythologies or folklores across the world. One such is a Latin American folklore, La Llorona (pronounced [la ʝo.ˈɾo.na], "The Weeping Woman") is the ghost of a woman who lost her children and now cries while looking for them in the river, often causing misfortune to those who are near or hear her.

In the Easy Type version, Leshy's name was changed to Lady Plum.
