Long ago, the gods looked down upon the warring peoples of this land and were displeased. Wishing to contain their violence, the gods arrested time upon the battlefield, thinking to imprison those who fought there. But violence would not be so contained. It spread beyond its confines, contaminating other lands, and soon conflict was rampant once again. In their grief, the gods made a scourging blizzard to rage, and when the blizzard lifted, men looked to the skies and found they were alone. This fateful tumult is said to have given birth to the leshach entite.

Madman! Seal all you love in ice, yet know that in that ice you will see not your own reflection, but that of others. Jealousy! With raging thunderbolt held high, take the fickle ice captive. Only then will your heart be freed, and from within the ice, the shining electrum be revealed.

The Original Japanese Guidebook cites the Leshach Entites' MP as being 16500, but subsequent guides list it as 999.

Battle

Like the other Entites, Leshach Entite uses Silencega, Sleepga, and Fear, the latter of which reduces one character's MP. It also attacks using Blizzaga, its elemental property, which is augmented by the terrain effect, as unlike the other Entites, Leshach Entite doesn't have the "Ignore Weather & Terrain" augment. Unusual among Entites, Reflect will work against its spells. Like the other Entites, Leshach Entite is docile, but attacks when provoked or when magick is used nearby.

Etymology

Leschach Entite's name origin is obscure. In the Japanese version it is spelled as "Rē-shī" in kana, the spelling of the mythical Leshy. Leshy was a Slavonic trickster spirit that roamed forests and made travelers lose their sense of direction, and protected wild animals and the woods. It also has a wife, Leshachikha, and children, the Leshanki. How it associates with the ice element is obscure, but likely refers to it having blue blood.
