Lost Chapter: A Devoted Heart[]

When Lenna arrives, she immediately tries to help a dragon that has been poisoned in battle with another monster. The dragon, maddened by pain, strikes her down and continues its rampage. Faris is the first person to spot her when the party enters the area. She, Galuf, and the others are unable to rouse Lenna and take her to a safer place to treat her injuries.

After Lenna is revived, Bartz is relieved that she still remembers who they are (as amnesia had been revealed as a possible side-effect of the Torsions). Lenna's first concern is for the dragon, which was crying out for help, and she insists that Faris not blame it for injuring her. Still, she thanks everyone for helping her, and Cecil is impressed that Lenna's first concern was still for the dragon in spite of what happened.

When Terra returns from scouting, her information makes it clear that it is too late to save the dragon, and Lenna reluctantly agrees that the best thing they can do is kill it to end its suffering. After they defeat it, Lenna quietly enlists Vivi and Eiko to dig a grave for the dragon, which they cover in flower seeds. Yuna assures her that the dragon must be grateful for the kindness, and the party affirms their resolve to solve the problem of the Torsions so that such tragedies don't happen in future. Lenna, Bartz, and Galuf decide that they will return to the grave when the flowers have bloomed so that they can pay their respects.

Act 2, Ch. 7: Respite's Authenticity[]

After Ignis is summoned to the world of respite, he joins the warriors in their journey and joins Lenna, Steiner, Penelo, Edgar, and Rosa in conversation. As Ignis describes his role as Noctis' advisor and his responsibility for the Crown Prince's nutrition, Lenna commends him on his reliability. Due to his age relative to Noctis, Lenna calls him nearly a sibling to the Prince.

Allusions[]

  • Lenna getting hurt in the course of assisting a sick dragon is something which happens twice in Final Fantasy V.
  • The planting of flowers on the dragon's grave and their intention to return references the ending of Final Fantasy V, when the party returns to the Guardian Tree to pay their respects to Galuf and his spirit causes flowers to bloom.
  • Lenna's skills are closely tied to her wind drake Hiryu. Her EX ability is a reference to the drake sacrificing itself to become Phoenix.
  • Lenna shares some similarities with Neon, her Force Mode partner:
    • Both have an association with fire - through Phoenix and Marilith, respectively.
    • Both have put their life in danger for the sake of others - Lenna has consumed poisonous plants to help a sick dragon and Neon has tried to sacrifice herslef by becoming Chaos.
