Lemurés is a legendary Purvama in Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, raised into the skies by the god Feolthanos long ago. Lemurés is ruled by a magical stone known as the Sacred Crystal, which erected a barrier to shield the Purvama from the rest of the world.
In time, the Legend of the Floating Land became an ambition for sky pirates who sought the island and the riches of legend that it held. The ruins of Lemurés are where the aegyl reside. Due to being shielded within the flying continent, the aegyl have no knowledge of the outside world.
Zephyr, the Windward Isles Edit
We made landfall on the Windward Isles. The sight that met us defies the logic of those who have dwelt upon Ivalice- green fields dropping and giving way to endless sky. And every where, the aegyl and their magnificent temples.Folio from in-game.
Zephyr is the island the aegyl live on. Mostly covered in ruins, a lot of sky pirates are exploring the area for treasures. Vaan finds Llyud here, injured after some Antlions attacked him. Deep in the ruins is a large deposit of auracite.
Tormelados, Isle of the Megalith Edit
I've not seen the like of the skystone that dominates the landscape here. The climate beneath the stone is cool and pleasant, and there is a great shrine—small though it appears by comparison - standing near its base. What treasures wait within?Folio from in-game.
An island housing many ruins, a testimony to its long history. Also believed to house a precious magicite, attracting the attention of many a sky pirate.
Muruc Cahuac Skysea Edit
I have arrived at the great skysea of Lemurés. The sea stretches from end to end of this great island. It is truly a sight to behold. I must make time to swim its blue waters.Folio from in-game.
A flying ocean filled with small islands, its location gives its perpetual summer. It is said that this island shelters abundant resources, which explains why the pirates of the sky are interested in it so much. A small community is set up here, and the party find Rikken and the gang here. Bahamut later breaks the island into three smaller islands.

Tswarra, Isle of the Lost Edit
To Tread on Holy Ground. The aegyl inhabit only those places their god has deemed right and proper. Thus have they avoided the territorial disputes that have plagued so much of Ivalice's history.Folio from in-game.
A deserted island. Its forest, though filled with crystals, is a dangerous place to visit. The aegyl rarely go here. The party crash land here after being attacked by Bahamut, and find Velis. It takes them a few days to get off the island.
Arda, Heaven's Pillar Edit
The island they call Arda must surely hold the loftiest peaks in all the world. The roots of these mountains begin in the clouds, the summits rise to heights unthinkable on Ivalice.Folio from in-game
A large island with a mountain. It holds the second auralith. The party fights Balthier, Fran, and Ba'Gamnan in the auralith's cradle. Arda is possibly named after the name of the Earth in J. R. R Tolkien's famous Middle-earth mythos.
Lesrekta, Isle of Illusions Edit
I wait, but she does not return. Her friends tell me she'd been playing near a summoning gate when she vanished. I must accept that she walks the World of Illusion now. Perhaps it is the will of the Eternal.Folio from in-game.
The home of the Yarhi. Vaan and co. are sent to Lesrekta after Balthier destroys the second auralith. Vaan is confronted by illusions that remind him of his devotion to his friends.
After the party is reunited following an encounter with Yarhi in The Neverwood, Velis appears to them and transforms into the Esper Odin by the warping of the Judge of Wings. After his defeat, he tells the party of the true nature of the auracite before dissolving into the godblade Anastasia. The party wakes up from their "dream trip" and find themselves in the Galbana Sky Saloon.
Keep of Forgotten Time Edit
Floating majestically in the skies, the Keep is hardly reachable. It is said to be a place nearest to the gods. The most powerful aegyl warriors are charged to protect the place from any intruders. Feolthanos, leader of the aegyl, sits on his throne here. It can be reached with the Galbana via a place called Eternity's March.
Other appearances Edit
Lemurés doesn't make an actual appearance nor depiction, but is briefly mentioned in an character-choice trigger-event during battle in accordance with the players' choice of choosing Penelo and Vaan in the battle.
During the final battle against Neukhia, if the player choose both Penelo and Vaan to battle, during Vaan's or Penelo's turn, Vaan will asks Penelo about their adventure so far. Penelo will then reply and mentioned about their adventure in Lemurés. Both of them seems to miss the past events that makes them sky pirates now.
Note that the player must choose both Vaan and Penelo in the battle, or else they would not say anything about Lemurés.
It is likely Lemurés is based on the real life mythical continent of Lemuria. Lemuria is the name of a hypothetical "lost land" variously located in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The concept's 19th-century origins lie in attempts to account for discontinuities in biogeography; however, the concept of Lemuria has been rendered obsolete by modern theories of plate tectonics. Though Lemuria is no longer considered a valid scientific hypothesis, it has been adopted by writers involved in the occult, as well as some Tamil writers of India. Accounts of Lemuria differ, but all share a common belief that a continent existed in ancient times and sank beneath the ocean as a result of a geological, often cataclysmic, change, such as pole shift.
