Are you kidding me? That thing is huge!

Prompto

Kujata is an enemy in Final Fantasy XV fought in Duscae in the Disc of Cauthess area, by the Roadside Scrapyard and south of Rydelle Ley's parking spot. It is a colossal bovine.

Like with most large enemies in Final Fantasy XV, "Omnis Lacrima" the main boss theme of the game, plays during the battle.

Bestiary[]

The scimitar-like horns and vicious temper of this beast make it hard to believe the kujata is not a carnivore, but it seems content to hold its own in the world of "eat or be eaten." Its horns are sturdy and lightweight, owing to their hollow insides, making them ideal lances with which to charge foes.

Battle[]

Kujata is fought on a square battlefield rather than on the common circular one, and thus it can be easier to be pushed out of the boundaries and accidentally leave the battle. It is weak to greatswords, shields and fire and it resists ice and light. It has a charge attack that can be parried and countered; Noctis will jump onto its horn, be flung into the air and counter with a magic spell. Kujata also gets down and rolls, crushing everything on its path. When vulnerable, it lies on its side and won't fight back for a time. Breaking its head will make it especially weak, and its break appendage item is fairly rare.

Strategy[]

The player can get behind it and attack its hind quarters to hopefully trigger a blindside link with someone. The player should look out for its charge and then counter-attack. If the player has unlocked character swap for Prompto, he can stay out of its way and barrage it with ranged attacks. The Cerberus sniper rifle, if available, can also be good for breaking its head (when wielded by Noctis).

Etymology[]

Kuyūthā (Arabic: كيوثاء), also known as Kujata and Kujūta, is a cosmic bull in Arabian mythology who stands on the enormous fish Bahamut (compare Leviathan and Behemoth). Kuyūthā has four thousand eyes, and the equal amount of ears, mouths, noses, tongues, and feet, with a distance of a journey of 500 years between each of them (e.g. from eye to eye). On the back of Kuyūthā is a giant mountain of ruby, and on top of that mountain is an angel, who supports six Hells, the Earth, and seven Heavens.
