A young girl born with the ability to converse with moogles, wind drakes, and other creatures. Contrary to her youthful appearance, she can be mature and outgoing when occasion demands. Even after losing her grandfather, Galuf, she inherits his vision and abilities and joins Bartz's party to stop Exdeath.

Description

Krile is a playable character in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited during the Lost Chapter Will of the Dawn.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Krile's outfit is based off her Yoshitaka Amano artwork. She wears a bright pink leotard with matching bracers under a long purple hooded cape and a purple sash. She has tall, decorated purple-and-blue boots. On her right arm, she wears a bangle (likely an allusion to the item Galuf's Bangle). She has brown eyes and blonde hair in a high ponytail. When selected in battle, Krile holds her hand over her heart and momentarily looks skyward. Her victory pose is jumping into the air and twirling.

Personality[]

Krile is cheerful and energetic. Her devotion to her grandfather leads her to do things that are both courageous and reckless, such as jumping into the Torsion on her own because she heard his voice through it. Her friendly disposition quickly wins over other members of the party in spite of their disagreeing on whether her behavior is admirable or worrisome. Although she is undaunted by the dangers of her new situation (saying that she avoids getting caught up in fears by imagining her favorite animal), she is afraid of being left behind without her grandfather.

Krile is perceptive about others and has a habit of speaking straightforwardly, even to the point of embarrassment. If someone is putting on a facade of stoicism, rivalry, or toughness, she will happily inform the group about that person's true sentiments. She is similarly blunt in other conversations, though she is usually upbeat about it. She is also keen to others' feelings of loneliness, as it is something close to her heart.

Story[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Krile's presence is first evident when the party finds a manikin of her standing near a Torsion. Galuf immediately recognizes it as her and chases it inside, where they battle it. After it is defeated, the real Krile calls out and runs over to the group. She and Galuf are overjoyed to reunite. Krile explains that she heard Galuf's voice from a Torsion that appeared in her world. Feeling that he was in trouble, she immediately jumped in to find him. At Galuf's prompting, she introduces herself to his new friends.

When Mog appears, Krile is astonished that he can speak human language, casually revealing that she's able to speak to moogles, chocobos, and other animals. Mog panics at this and flees, to her confusion and Cecil's suspicion. The party shows mixed feelings about her actions here and the fact that she similarly crossed worlds to follow her grandfather at home. While Steiner and Yuna admire her courage, others such as Firion and Setzer find it worrisome for someone so young to be so reckless and Bartz is exasperated. Galuf, for his part, says that in spite of worrying about her he is proud of her bravery--and that they should take a lesson in pluck from her.

In spite of her chipper attitude, Krile reveals her fears for Galuf and her loneliness without him. Alone with Galuf and Bartz, she finally shows how scared she was for Galuf and how much she missed him. She begs him not to leave her alone again, saying that she wouldn't know what to do without him. Though bemused, Galuf assures her that he will always be with her. When Bartz chimes in, Galuf affirms that he'll be there for all of them "until the very end." Feeling reassured, Krile joins them to depart from the Torsion.

Krile's skill in talking to animals comes in handy several times. At one point, she is able to warn the party of an impending rainstorm by listening to animal conversations. She, along with Ace, Penelo, and Bartz, are able to advise a lovelorn chocobo how to confess his feelings. Although Krile is pleased to learn that Sherlotta shares this ability, she also advises Rinoa that being able to talk to animals doesn't automatically make it easier to befriend them--talking is how arguments happen, after all.

Late during the journey through the World of Darkness, Exdeath makes his own bid to take control of the world's properties for his own ends. The Dark Manikins of the Light Warriors oppose him, but are unable to defeat him themselves, and Bartz's Dark Manikin is corrupted. After Bartz grants the manikin all of his good memories and becomes catatonic, the other manikins catch up and tell their originals that it is time to return the Brilliance they carry.

Krile expresses her fear of what memories are contained in the Brilliance, but accepts them willingly. Even so, she is visibly shocked compared to the others when the memory of Galuf's death is restored. Although Galuf tries to cheer her by saying that he's alive and well here and she is determined to help Bartz get his personality back, Krile retreats alone on the airship to cry over her loss. She admits to Ignis that she understands why some of the other worlds' villains act the way they do, because she also wishes she could change what happened. Ignis reminds her that changing the future would remove her from it and that it's better to focus on doing what she can now. She agrees and resolves to help Bartz to repay him for looking after her after Galuf's death. She is greatly relieved when they find his Dark Manikin and it voluntarily restores him to his normal self.
