The King of Eblan and the Queen of Eblan were the parents of Prince Edge. After Eblan Castle was attacked, they fled to the Eblan Cave with the other survivors. At some unspecified point, Edge left and the two were abducted by Dr. Lugae, who turned them into chimeric monsters and kept them at the top of the Tower of Babil.
When the party visits the upper half of the tower, they face Edge's parents before the two come to their senses, and stop fighting. They then speak to Edge, telling him that he is ready to rule Eblan. Then, they committed suicide by self-destructing. The resulting rage over their deaths and Rubicante's indifference empowers Edge to help him defeat the Archfiend.

Final Fantasy IV
The King of Eblan and the Queen of Eblan appear as bosses in the Tower of Babil in Final Fantasy IV. The battle is scripted, and defending the entire fight will secure the player's victory. They are not recorded.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
The King of Eblan and the Queen of Eblan are fought once again in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years within the True Moon when one of the crystals revives past foes. The battle is once again scripted and neither of them attacks, eventually committing suicide, but not before they tell Edge to save Eblan and their world.
