Alus...the kingdom is yours now. Stop the war, and bring peace back to its people. I'm counting on you, Son...
King Gorn
King Gorn is a character from Final Fantasy III. He is the ruler of Saronia, and the father of Prince Alus Restor.
Story[]
When his evil advisor, Gigametz, had taken control over his mind, King Gorn plunged Saronia into a civil war, ordering all soldiers in the kingdom to fight each other by threat of execution. When his son Alus speaks out against his father's actions, he is exiled from the castle, powerless to stop the conflict.
After meeting the Warriors of the Light in a tavern, Alus returns home with renewed conviction and attempts to reason with his father once more. Once they arrive, Gigametz attempts to have the king stab the young prince in his sleep, but the love for his son causes him to break the spell and turn the knife on himself. His cover blown, the advisor transforms into his true form, the monstrous Garuda, before falling to Luneth and his friends.
During his last moments alive, the king asks for Alus's forgiveness, which he receives.
Other media[]
