Is this...an evolved version of the Behemoth?

King Behemoth is a boss in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and is fought on the ninth floor of the Depths of the True Moon.

Stats

Battle

King Behemoth will counter all attacks with his physical attack. Once defeated, it will cast Meteor as a final attack.

Strategy

The player should start off by buffing the party with spells like Protect and Haste. Cecil, Edge, and Kain should use physical attacks, and Rosa cast Curaga continuously. Rydia should use summon magic and her most powerful Black Magic.

An easy way of dealing with the Behemoth is to cast Blink on all characters, or bring Rydia and Edward to use the Band Mirage Song, which casts Blink on all party members. The party can also cast Slow or use Spider's Silk. After the last blow, King Behemoth will use Meteor and it can be fatal if HP is low, but the player only needs to keep the HP of some characters high enough to withstand the attack.

Etymology

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
