The King Behemoth (キングベヒーモス, Kingubehīmosu?), also known as the Behemoth King, BehemoKing, or SrBehemoth, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy II. It is a stronger version of the Behemoth with superior stats and abilities. It is commonly encountered in the final dungeons and sometimes as bosses. A common trait with the King Behemoth, unlike its lesser brethren, is that it more frequently uses Meteor, often as a final attack.

Final Fantasy II[]
The King Behemoth appears as a boss encountered in the Jade Passage, found in a chest that contains the Rune Axe. It can later be encountered as a regular enemy the final dungeon Pandaemonium and in the Arcane Labyrinth. It relies on brutal physical attacks, but drops strong equipment, including the rare Yoichi Bow.
Final Fantasy III[]
The King Behemoth appears as an enemy encountered in the Ancients' Maze, being the rarest and most powerful enemy fought there, only encountered in later rooms. In the 2D versions, The King Behemoth relies on regular attacks, but in the 3D remake it can use Meteor at low HPFinal Fantasy III. It is a source of valuable Elixirs and Protect Rings.
Final Fantasy IV[]
The King Behemoth is an enemy exclusive to the Advance and Complete Collection releases , encountered in the Lunar Ruins. It fights identically to the Behemoth, and will generally appear alongside one in battle.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
The King Behemoth from Final Fantasy II appears as a boss on the ninth floor of the final dungeon, the Depths. It will counter all attacks dealt to it with a strong physical attack, and upon death will cast Meteor on the party.
Final Fantasy V[]
The King Behemoth, also known as the BehemoKing, appears as an enemy encountered on the final floors of the final dungeon, the Interdimensional Rift. It is a powerful foe that counters all regular attacks with a physical attack and all magic attacks, including summons, with Meteor. Its carries the rare Blood Sword to be stolen, and when caught and released, will use the powerful Gigaflare ability.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Behemoth King, also known as the SrBehemoth, is encountered as a boss in the Cave on the Veldt, first alive and then undead. After defeating it as a boss, it can be fought as a random enemy on the Veldt where Gau can learn it as a Rage. The Behemoth King can cast Meteor at any time, and will also use other powerful abilities, such as Holy, Blizzara, and Blizzaga. In its undead version, it loses the ability to use Blizzara, Blizzaga, and Holy, but gains access to the Death spell and Sleeping Gas ability, and will always back attack the party.
The undead Behemoth King can be fought in the Dragon's Neck Coliseum by betting the Force Armor (to win a Force Armor back), the Organyx (to win a Soul Sabre), or the Soul of Thamasa (to win a Celestriad).
Final Fantasy VII[]
The King Behemoth is encountered as an enemy in the final dungeon, the Northern Cave, and use Comet2 alongside powerful physical attacks.

The Behemoth King appears as an optional boss in the final dungeon, the Banora Underground. It attacks with powerful physical attacks as well as the Comet spell at regular intervals, and uses the Quake and Regen spells.
Final Fantasy X[]
The Behemoth King appears as an enemy in the final dungeon, Inside Sin, being one of the stronger enemies there. It attacks with physical attacks, and has access to the powerful Thundaga, Mighty Guard, and Flare spells. Once defeated it will cast Meteor in an attempt to defeat the party.
Final Fantasy XI[]
The King Behemoth appears as a notorious monster behemoth in the Behemoth's Dominion. It can be spawned by trading a Savory Shank to a trigger; in prior versions, it would potentially spawn in the common Behemoth's place after three kills of the latter. It can cast Meteor at will, usually in 30-60 second increments. Defeating the King Behemoth grants the "Behemoth Demolisher" title.
Final Fantasy XII[]
The Behemoth King appears as a Rank VII Elite Mark in the Feywood, accessible after all marks up to Fafnir have been defeated. While nominally a behemoth, it differs greatly from the Behemoth family of enemies, behaving more akin to members of the fell wyrm family. It is a powerful enemy, having access to high-level elemental spells, such as Ardor, Holy, Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Slowga, and Darkga. It can inflict Disease with its regular attacks and spawns with various buffs already in place.
Final Fantasy XIII[]
The Behemoth King appears as an enemy in the Archylte Steppe, Yaschas Massif, and Eden. It is a powerful enemy that focuses primarily on physical attacks, and will stand on both legs once its near death. During this time, it will gain access to Thundara and Thundaga, and will gain higher stats and restore all of its HP.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The King Behemoth appears as a boss in The Labyrinth of the Ancients, a 24-player raid in the Crystal Tower. It is the penultimate boss, and is attended by Iron Giants and Purobolos.
Final Fantasy XV[]
The Behemoth King appears as a boss. In the original appears, it guards the gate to the Citadel in the final dungeon of Insomnia. In the PC and Royal Edition releases, the Behemoth King guardian the Citadel is replaced by the Cerberus, with the Behemoth King instead becoming a regular enemy encountered elsewhere in the dungeon The Behemoth King also appears as a boss in the Comrades mission "Departure".

The Behemoth King appears as an endgame S-rank notorious mark fought in the plains of Ash before Stonhyrr. Defeating it yields 20000 gil, 55 [[Patron's Whisper|renown points, a Behemoth Shackle, and a piece of Orichalcum for crafting.

Etymology[]
Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
