The Kilimweave Shirt is a low-ranked mystic armor in Final Fantasy XII that boosts the wearer's Defense by 8 and Magick Power by 3, and in the Zodiac versions, MP by 16.
Obtain[]
Original[]
In the original PlayStation 2 version, the Kilimweave Shirt is sold for 500 gil in Rabanastre after leaving Barheim Passage, Bhujerba, Dreadnought Leviathan, Dalmasca Westersand after the Leviathan but before obtaining the Treaty-Blade, and in Nalbina Fortress. It also rarely stolen from the female Zombie and obtained from Pilika's diary sidequest.
Pilika is a moogle in Bhujerba who hires Vaan to fell Rocktoise as an elite mark. Vaan can find her diary at the technicks shop and choose to read it. Returning it to Pilika, she asks if Vaan read her diary. Affirming earns the Kilimweave Shirt as reward, whereas denying earns the slightly better Shepherd's Bolero. It does not matter if the answer is truthful.
Zodiac[]
The Kilimweave Shirt is sold for 500 gil in Bhujerba, in Rabanastre after meeting Ba'Gamnan in the Lhusu Mines, and on board Dreadnought Leviathan. It is found as a treasure in the Trial Mode Stage 14 with the Diamond Armlet equipped. It is still rarely stolen from the female Zombie. It is no longer a reward from Pilika.
Use[]
The Kilimweave Shirt is a low-ranked mystic armor, giving 8 Defense and 3 Magick Power, as well as 16 MP in the Zodiac versions. Mystic armor offer magick-related bonuses that affect all types of magickal actions, from casting black magick to damage an enemy, to casting white magick to heal the party. Magick Power is also a factor when determining damage dealt by katana, staves, and maces.
In the Zodiac versions, White Mage, Red Battlemage, Black Mage, and Bushi can equip it, and so it is only useful to buy if the player has chosen any of these License Boards for their party's first jobs. The superior Shepherd's Bolero is available soon after the Kilimweave Shirt, and so the player may want to skip it in favor of it.
The player could get it slightly early by letting the battery mimics drain the electricity in the Barheim Passage to make undead spawn, as the shirt is a rare steal from the female Zombie. However, this is likely more effort than is worthwhile.
Etymology[]
