Galuf and Dorgann's comrade in arms. Leader of the werewolf clan and one of the four Dawn Warriors. Still hot-blooded despite his age, a misunderstanding leads to him dueling with Bartz, and then promising to lend his aid upon learning the adventurer is the son of his old friend. Even while battling illness, he puts his life on the line to dispel the illusions in Castle Exdeath.

Kelger is a playable character representing Final Fantasy V in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. He can be recruited during Lost Chapter Dawn's Howl Shattering Illusions.

A wolf-man from the village of Quelb, Kelger is modeled on the typical lycanthropes of fantasy fiction. His fur is in shades of gray, and he wears a gold headpiece with a protruding horn behind his ears. He wears full-body armor with a yellow cape.

- Kelger pairs with Jecht for his FR ability and is Relm's FR partner. The three are connected for their interaction in Kelger's Lost Chapter.
- Kelger and Jecht each challenged one who would succeed them in their respective roles—and lost (Jecht spent much of his story issuing a challenge to Tidus to surpass him; Kelger tested Bartz before the former realized the latter was Dorgann's son).
- Kelger and Relm's interactions mirror her interactions with Strago at the end of Final Fantasy VI, where she promises to paint a portrait of him on canvas.
- Requiem Slash is named after Requiem, a song the party can learn in Quelb, Kelger's hometown in Final Fantasy V. Coincidentally, during Tri-Element, Kelger uses the three scrolls the party can buy in Quelb.
