Kalm is a field map in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It is a town located in the Grasslands region, at its northern tip. The town is the settings of both chapter 1, "Fall of a Hero", and chapter 2, "A New Journey Begins". It is later revisited for odd jobs.

Overview[]

Quests[]

Main scenario[]

Kalm is the first setting of "Fall of a Hero". Although most of the chapter's gameplay takes place in Nibelheim in flashbacks, Kalm is the location of the final few quests, which are all story-driven.

The first portions of "A New Journey Begins" takes place in Kalm. As the first town visited in the game, Kalm allows the player to explore the town, meet non-player characters, and engage in conversation with the party members around the town, affecting relationships. Kalm is briefly locked after these story quests, and is not returned to in the main story, but is returned to in side quests.

Odd Jobs[]

Queen's Blood[]

The first Queen's Blood characters are located around Kalm, and Kalm is where the player receives their first set of cards.

Shops[]

Behind the scenes[]

The Wall Market singer Akira from Final Fantasy VII Remake appears in Kalm in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; because characters Motomu Toriyama made for the original game, like Johnny and the Shinra Middle Manager are involved with the main story and quests, he was not able to use them freely. He wanted at least one character to play around with in the remake project, and that was Akira. Toriyama plans on having him do "something even more impressive" in the third game.[1]
