A princess of the flan clan. Actually much meaner than she looks. She's been secretly planning a war against all other desserts. For a flan, that takes backbone.

Kaguya Flan is an enemy in World of Final Fantasy that can be fought after acquiring a Coliseum Ticket through DLC. In the standalone version of World of Final Fantasy Maxima, this Coliseum Ticket is already available.

Kaguya Flan is fought in the "The Flan as White as Snow" match at the Coliseum.

Etymology[]

The word Flan refers to an open pastry or sponge cake containing a sweet or savory filling. A typical flan of this sort is round, with shortcrust pastry, usually coated with sweet syrup. It is similar to a custard tart or a South African melktert.

The Kaguya comes from Princess Kaguya of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, a princess from the moon who is discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant. When she grows up her beauty attracts many suitors, whom she turns away by challenging them to impossible tasks. She eventually reveals her celestial origins and returns to the moon at the tale's end.

Her Japanese name is a more evident pun regarding the character, as Flan are known as Pudding (Purin) while Princess in katakana is read as Purinsesu.
