KO is a status in Final Fantasy X. The victim is knocked unconscious cannot act. This status occurs when a character's HP is reduced to 0 from taking damage or from being struck by an instant KO ability. If everyone in the party is KO'd (or petrified), it will trigger a Game Over.

If the character who was to throw a blitzball to Tidus during Blitz Ace as per the affection mechanics is KO'd, someone else will throw it or the ball comes out of nowhere.
