Description
Junk Shop is a menu ability in Final Fantasy VIII that allows the player to remodel weapons from the Ability menu. The Junk Shop ability and CC Joker aboard Ragnarok are the only means of changing equipped weapon during the endgame, as most locations are sealed off.
Obtained[]
Junk Shop known by the Guardian Force Doomtrain as soon as the player recruits him by using the Solomon Ring in the inventory screen with the correct items in possession. Solomon Ring is picked up at Tears' Point, and the items needed to use it are six each of Remedy+ (use Alexander's Med LV Up with regular Remedies), Steel Pipes (from Wendigos and their cards), and Malboro Tentacles (from Malboros and their cards). If the player removes Junk Shop with Amnesia Greens, there is no way to get it back.

Using Junk Shop in the Ability menu allows the player to remodel weapons. Using a junk shop is the only way to change a character's weapon.
Use[]
Junk Shop is a good ability to have if the player does not yet have their ultimate weapons by the time they get Doomtrain. Once the party has their ultimate weapons, further weapon remodeling is not needed as only options are downgrades. All junk shops offer the same weapon remodeling service, and so it does not matter which shop the player visits. Weapons Monthly magazines show what items are needed for weapon remodeling, but are not needed: the player can simply remodel their weapon as soon as they have the right ingredients.
