Summon from the heavens a mighty levinbolt that deals massive damage to a single target.
Description
Judgment Bolt is Ramuh's most expensive Eikonic Ability in Final Fantasy XVI that the player can assign to Clive's loadout. Clive will call down a levinbolt to severely damage his target; despite the in-game description only mentioning the bolt damaging one target, adjacent enemies still receive some damage as well.
Judgment Bolt is a recurring summon ability in the Final Fantasy series for Ramuh.
Obtained[]
Clive gains access to Ramuh's powers as part of the story, during "Cid the Outlaw", usable in his loadout after the events inside Drake's Head. Judgment Bolt is then learned by spending 2300 AP in the Abilities menu.
Mechanics[]
Clive can use Judgment Bolt in battle whenever it is equipped to his current loadout. He can have two Eikonic Abilities alongside his Eikonic Feat, which for the lightning loadout is Blind Justice.
Judgment Bolt has Clive call down a massive bolt of lightning to damage his target, which also ripples to minorly damage adjacent enemies.
Judgment Bolt activates the battle technique Collateral Judgment when it damages multiple enemies.
After being used, the ability has a 90-second cooldown before being able to be used again. Upgrading/mastering the ability, or repositioning it, has no effect on its cooldown. The Breath of Lightning (Judgment Bolt) shortens cooldown by 9 seconds. Completing Ramuh's chronolith trial earns The Favor of Lightning (Judgment Bolt) accessory, which increases Judgment Bolt's damage by 12%.
AP cost | Effect |
---|---|
2300 (Base) | Able to equip Judgment Bolt to Clive's lightning loadout. |
3140 (Upgrade) | Increases the number of lightning bolts. |
5500 (Master) | Able to equip Judgment Bolt to any loadout. |
Use[]
Judgment Bolt is mainly good at damaging one strong target, such as near the end of their stagger when the damage multiplier is at the highest. It is worthwhile to upgrade it to deal more damage if the player is using it in their loadout.
Judgment Bolt's downside is that it still is not overly strong despite being Ramuh's ultimate and thus having a sizeable cooldown.
During the chronolith trial with the Ramuh's abilities, triggering Collateral Bolt by striking multiple enemies with Judgment Bolt earns a 15-second time bonus.
