Zargabaath is a boss in the Zodiac versions of Final Fantasy XII fought in Trial Mode at Stage 100, alongside Gabranth, Drace, Bergan, and Ghis. A Grand Armor can be stolen from him.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Zargabaath casts Bravery on Gabranth and Bergan, amplifying their already considerable damage output. He also casts Berserk on Bergan, making him extremely dangerous. If all buffs are in place, he will attack physically. His attacks are weak compared to Gabranth's and Bergan's, but should not be underestimated.

If any party members are in Reverse, Zargabaath will use Hi-Potions on them if they are at low HP, dealing 625 damage. Gabranth uses Elixirs on Zargabaath when he is on low HP and is likewise healed by Zargabaath when his HP gets low.

Strategy[]

Zargabaath-Gabanth-Boss-FFXII-TZA

Zargabaath and Gabranth.

The Judges should be taken out in the order of Ghis, then Drace, and then Bergan. This leaves Gabranth and Zargabaath as the last two standing. The two will use Elixirs on each other when weakened, so the player should inflict Sleep on Zargabaath, then focus on bringing down Gabranth. Sleep will wear off quickly and needs to be reapplied often. The player can easily inflict Sleep with Nihopalaoa and a Prince's Kiss, but sleep-inducing weapons and the Sleep spell also work, the latter having perfect accuracy with the Indigo Pendant. Sleep status is somewhat unique in that when re-applied onto an already sleeping, it will refresh its duration rather than miss. This way, the player can keep Zargabaath sleeping indefinitely.

Once Gabranth is down, Zargabaath is alone; with no way to heal himself and pitiful damage output compared to his cohorts, he will not last long.

An easy way to quickly deal with Ghis, Drace, and Bergan is to inflict them with Disease and repeatedly use Zodiark's Final Eclipse or low health and bubbled Zeromus's Big Bang.
