After having debuted in the acclaimed Western world adapted Sentai series ''Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers'' for four seasons and two movie installments, Johnny's first voice acting role had him portray Vash the Stampede of the 2001 sci-fi space western series ''Trigun'', which was further well received by audiences.
Bosch was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Garland, Texas. His mother is Korean, and his father is of German and Irish descent. He was interested in martial arts at an early age, and he officially started practicing Wushu, his first martial art, at the age of fifteen, and later moved onto other styles, from Taekwondo, Jujutsu, Filipino martial arts, and Kenjutsu. Upon the departure of first Black Ranger Walter Jones of the western world adapted Sentai series ''Mighty Morphin Power Rangers'', Johnny was chosen as the next Black Ranger into the second season. His career lasted long into the movie adaptation, its subsequent Ninja themed season, the magic versus technology themed ''Zeo'', and part way into the automobile themed season ''Turbo''. Due to his popularity, he was personally selected by series choreographer Koichi Sakamoto for an episode cameo in the next level season ''Power Rangers in Space''.
