Johnny Yong Bosch (born January 6, 1976) is an Asian American actor, martial artist, voice actor and musician. In the Final Fantasy series, he is the voice of Firion in the Dissidia series.

Roles

Background

Bosch was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Garland, Texas. His mother is Korean, and his father is of German and Irish descent. He was interested in martial arts at an early age, and he officially started practicing Wushu, his first martial art, at the age of fifteen, and later moved onto other styles, from Taekwondo, Jujutsu, Filipino martial arts, and Kenjutsu. Upon the departure of first Black Ranger Walter Jones of the western world adapted Sentai series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Johnny was chosen as the next Black Ranger into the second season. His career lasted long into the movie adaptation, its subsequent Ninja themed season, the magic versus technology themed Zeo, and part way into the automobile themed season Turbo. Due to his popularity, he was personally selected by series choreographer Koichi Sakamoto for an episode cameo in the next level season Power Rangers in Space.

Following his career as a successful martial artist and TV actor, in 2003, Johnny premiered in his first role as a voice actor as the lead character Vash the Stampede of the sci fi space western anime series Trigun, to which his role saw well reception due to his performance. Since then, Johnny had started a music career as the front man of band Eyeshine, starred in movies working alongside fellow staff member Koichi Sakamoto, continued his career in voice acting, and maintains ties with his fellow costars and fan community of the long running Power Rangers series.

Amongst his voice acting roles, he is also best known for starring in RPG Tales installments Tales of the Abyss as Guy Cecil, and Tales of Phantasia as Cress Albaine, Ichigo Kurosaki of the supernatural fighting shounen series Bleach, the Protagonist of occult mythology RPG series installment Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, Shotaro Kaneda of the groundbreaking dystopian sci fi series Akira, and the current actor of Zero of Megaman X selected for the crossover fighting series Marvel Vs. Capcom.
