Lost Chapter: A Thin, Icy Smile[]
Nabaat lands in the Lifeless World unconscious, but as she comes to, starts to wonder where she is and what happened to her, eventually realizing that she is on neither Cocoon nor Gran Pulse. Believing that the l'Cie were responsible, she makes it her singular mission to destroy them when she finds them, for it is the will of her Primarch that they be exterminated. She downs a couple of lesser monsters before encountering an ochu with which she hits a wall. The Emperor appears before Nabaat to explain her present situation and then teaches her that her strength of will is the key to the new world's workings. He also intends to use her as a weapon against his enemies, with which she feigns going along as it will lead her to her goal as well. Using her newfound knowledge, Nabaat overpowers the beast and the Emperor leaves.
Along her journey into the new world, Nabaat loses a fragment of her memories, quickly recovered by a manikin of herself that has suddenly appeared. She meets Vivi in search of more information, at first unaware of her intent to kill his friends. Soon after, the rest of the party spots the doppelganger and readies for battle. It is not known at this point what becomes of the clone.
Nabaat arrives to meet the party, fully intent to wipe out her quarry within it. Vivi attempts to intervene, but is knocked down. Several more face her and are also pushed back. Moments later, Raines arrives to order her to stand down, which she begrudgingly does. Raines explains that her methods are no longer needed, as those she pursues have already saved the world. Nabaat lets them off with a warning.
Not keen to be crushed underfoot of the Emperor, Nabaat, after some reflection, resolves to uncover the truth of her predicament.
Intersecting Wills: Invaders[]
As Sephiroth and Seymour scheme to reshape the Lifeless World in their own designs, Nabaat bursts onto the scene knowing very little about why or how she got here. She requests their guidance; but upon learning of the twisted plot, she quickly becomes disinterested and states that her sole intent is to kill the six l'Cie she is familiar with.
