You should feel honored. You are now part of the next chapter of my great story.

Jayden Rundall

Jayden Rundall is a major character in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and the king of Rundall. Known as the Unwavering Gun God, he is largely an unseen figure for most of season one, although his actions and that of his kingdom would still drive a significant part of the plot. He plays a larger role in the game's War of the Gale Highlands season, serving as one of the forces standing against Mont Leonis in his struggle to unify the nations of Ardra.

Personality[]

Jayden is a poli-faceted and complex individual. Thought by many to be a calculating schemer, skilled strategist and an ambitious regent, Jayden also shows an affable, and cordial nature even to his subordinates, which makes him hard to read. Jayden is at heart a thrill seeker and is always ready to jump into action, with the heating war causing him to easily get excited, almost to childish levels in which he even demands to be allowed to participate, with his own generals having to restrain him. In fact the prospect of entertaining himself is one of the central reasons why he is willing to wage war. Nonetheless, he's also shown to be rather airheaded as he easily forgot about his wedding ceremony purely due to all the warring spectacle that lay before him.

His relationship with others, particularly the Heindler royals is rather complicated. While he actively looks out for Oberon Heindler as a brotherly figure, due to their common harsh past as Lykeros prisoners and even preventing him from commiting suicide, Oberon in turn views Jayden as a messianic figure idolizing him to obsessive degrees. As Jayden has Oberon lead the assault against Ovis, effectively against his own fiancee Lucielle Ovis for her ring, it has created the perception that Jayden is taking advantage and manipulating Oberon for personal gain.

Alaya Rundall, Oberon's younger sister and Jayden's fiancee vehemently despises him and plots to have Jayden assassinated as a matter of national pride, and feeling disgust towards Jayden's actions and perceived scheming from his part, despite the fact they are childhood friends. Jayden seems to be openly in love with Alaya and is oblivious to her scorn, but also made aware of the unsavory rumors regarding the wedding which is believed to be a mere political ploy from Jayden in order to have Alaya as a "hostage" allowing him to coerce Heindler, something he denies to his own men.

The extent and motives behind his actions are rather unclear. While he has invaded several countries and lands in order to unify Ardra under his banner, it is not known whether this is out of sheer ambition alone. Although he has openly professed a desire to leave his mark in history and have others be a "chapter of his great story", he disapproves of indiscriminate violence even stopping Oberon from acting impulsively. While in Wezette, he temporarily aids the Leonis-Hourne alliance, later declaring to Mont that they'll eventually clash with one another, displaying a sense of chilvary. He also warns the Leonis King about Lucielle whom he deems dangerous and scheming, to the same degree as Melnia, a woman known for her insatiable greed and cold ruthlessness.

Story[]

Gameplay[]

King of the military superpower to the west, Rundall. Not caring in the least for justice or human nature, he decides everything on whether or not he finds interest in it. With a penchant for all things innovative, he is currently fascinated with the potential of guns. He is the bearer of an ancient ring entrusted by Gilgamesh.

Character description

Jayden Rundall is a UR-rarity unit of the Light element whose main job is King of the Stags, while his sub jobs are Black Mage and Red Mage. He can equip the following items: Gun, Hat, Clothing, and Accessory. His unit cost is 100.

His Master Ability increases Light unit allies' Max HP by 10% and Light Attack by 15, as well as his own Missile Attack Resistance by 10% and reduces his AP Consumption Rate by 20. His Limit Burst is Rotary Magicannon, which destroys any barrier that reduces Magic Dmg on target, then deals 3-Hit Dmg (L) based on caster's MAG stat.

The crest of the Rundall family. The stag, sacred and proud, symbolizes a family that has returned from the brink of extinction many times, yet still grows stronger. As long as a king wears this crest, hi vassals will unite under him and hi power will know no bounds. At least, that is what the stories say, but Jayden himself laughs at such superstitious belief.

Emblem of Rundall description

His Trust Master Reward is the Emblem of Rundall accessory, which bestows HP +302, SPR +7, ACC +12, CRT +9, and the Providence of the Stag ability, which bestows a barrier on self that negates a certain amount of Dmg and raises Missile ATK for 3 turns.

Jayden's main job, King of the Stags, focuses on Missile attacks, which take from his MAG stat rather than ATK. Jayden specializes in long range combat, being capable of sniping enemies from afar, with an array of different attacks. He is capable of guaranteed hits, debuff ATK of enemies while dealing damage, increase Missile Resistance pierce rate, and even capable of mild chaining and inflicting Paralysis. For buffing, Jayden can increase the AGI of allies in proximity while greatly boosting his own MAG, or increase his own range and Missile resistance. His Support skills extend his range, and can boost his AGI/SPR Piercing rate. His counter allows him to shoot foes.

Jayden's Black Mage sub job focuses on casting Black Magic, in his case of the Light element, such as Banish or Banishra, while using other non-elemental spells with secondary effects, such as Bio, which inflicts poison, and Drain, which restores his own HP, or even Flare, which deals massive non-elemental damage at a steep AP cost. He can use Sleep to inflict the status of the same name, or Osmose to steal foes' TP. His support ability boosts his MAG stat, while his counter unleashes a minor Magic Attack at foes in close range. Jayden's Red Mage sub job centers on using both White and Black Magic on limited capacity, but is also adept at countering other magic based jobs, being able to interrupt casting with Jamming Thrust. His support abilities give him increased AP and Magic Resistance, while his counter can allow him to ignore Magical attacks.

Jayden's EX Job, Unwavering Gun God, increases his DEX and LUCK further. His Sniper's Stance changes into Sniper's Stance+, further increasing the buff's range extension, and his Magiblast into Magiblast+ for increased range of effect. It also bestows him with Golden Magishot, which deals large damage and reduces CT to a single target.

Jayden is a fairly powerful unit whose combination of high MAG stat and Missile attacks, makes him harder to effectively counter and shield against. Having fairly good AGI and MAG, he is capable of acting quickly and with great power. Jayden's main strength is also his greatest weakness. Jayden can have such massive range that under most Automatic settings (such as PvP), he will attack first before buffing, which will make him run out of steam fast as his AP is generally low. Jayden lacks bulk and will melt against high damage outputs. It is generally recommended to limit the extent of his range, while pairing him with tank units who will soak the damage for him while he blasts opposition away with impunity. To compensate for his low AP, it is a good practice to equip him with an AP-generating Trust Master Reward. With both around, Jayden's can cause potential one-sided slaughter with ease.

The Great Stag.

Rundall is a rapidly developing nation boasting a powerful army equipped with a plethora of guns and led by Jayden Rundall, who wears a mysterious ring that can summon Visions. Continuing to spread eastward, many believe he is poised to first swallow up Ovis and Hourne before eventually bringing all nations under his control.
However, Jayden sees things differently from most, and he knows he must find a way to best confront a greater menacing power—for as long as it remains a threat, Ardra cannot know true peace.
