Ser Janlenoux

Ser Janlenoux de Courcillant is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. He is a member of Heavens' Ward.

History[]

Early life[]

Knighthood cannot be passed from father to son. Thus Ser Janlenoux, despite being the eldest son of a knight at twenty and four, earned his spurs like many others: through hard work and dedication. He and Ser Adelphel were brothers in arms, having shared the battlefield time and time again as sons of families pledged to House Durendaire.[1]

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward[]

Ser Janlenoux, alongside his fellow Heavens' Ward, join Thordan VII in the Singularity Reactor, after the Warrior of Light defeats both Lahabrea and Igeyorhm. The knights transform into the Knights of the Round and assist King Thordan in combat against the Warrior of Light.

Upon defeat, Janlenoux and the other knights fall to the ground, and are encompassed in a swell of aetherical light.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Ser Janlenoux is a Wildwood Elezen with long light purple hair. His right eye is a dark blue, while his left is a light grey with a scar cut down his eyelid. He wears Ward Knight's attire, which is a form of pure white Adamantite armor with dark blue trimmings and bears his order's crest. In battle he wields the sword Ultimum, a steel square cleaver with ornate engravings and gold & blue hilt accents.

Abilities[]

Though he does not wield his weapon with the same flair as Ser Adelphel, Ser Janlenoux of the Steel Oath is just as deadly with a blade. However, he is also quite skilled with a chef's knife, as he is a devoted student of the culinary arts, often preparing scrumptious meals for his comrades at home and at camp. When not on duty, he can often be found in a small corner of the Vault's kitchens where he practices his second craft. His friends all agree that if he had not elected to become a knight, he could have easily made a name for himself as a culinarian.[1]

Gameplay[]

Ser Janlenoux is fought during as one of King Thordan's knights in The Singularity Reactor The Singularity Reactor.

In Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, Ser Janlenoux is fought once more as a simulacrum of memory, alongside his fellow Heavens' Ward, in the Dark Knight level 70 duty Our Compromise Our Compromise.
