The Iron Giant is a rare and powerful enemy from Final Fantasy II. It can be found while wandering the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of the final dungeon, Pandaemonium. The enemy is incredibly difficult to find as there is only a slight chance that it will appear in a random battle, but it drops some of the best items in the game.
Even though it is a random encounter the music that plays is the boss theme, instead of the usual battle theme.

Iron Giant has a very high defense of 180. It is weak to Ice and Lightning. Iron Giant has access to the Poison Cloud XVI attack. He frequently flees after a little while into the battle, making it difficult to finish off.
Strategy[]
It is recommended to have Protect leveled up as much as possible and used at the start of the battle. Aura, Haste, and Berserk can also be used if the player wants to tackle it with strong physical attacks. If the player decides to fight using magic instead, high-level Ice and Lightning elemental attacks and spells work the best. It is recommended to have some form of protection against Poison. It is advised to keep one character devoted to healing and reviving other party members, as well as providing buffs to the attackers.
