The Iron Bangle should be bought from the first shop that sells equipment to give more Materia slots to the starting characters. Beyond that, if the player wishes to save a little bit of gil, they can skip the armor and save for the next armor, the Titan Bangle.
The Iron Bangle is missable as the area where it is sold will become inaccessible.
