History[]
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn[]
Some time after the Calamity, Iliud had taken in an amnesiac Cid nan Garlond who was injured during the chaos of Bahamut's rampage. The man reminded him of his deceased son, and had "Marques" taken in as a priest of the church. They are first encountered when the adventurer is assisting Thancred with the investigation of people being abducted by the Amalj'aa.
After the Garlean raid on the Waking Sands, Iliud has a more prominent role in the story, where the player is directed to him by a dying Noraxia, as per Minfilia's last instructions. Iliud takes the adventurer in and formally introduces Marques.
Shortly thereafter, Alphinaud arrives at the church seeking both the adventurer and Cid in hopes of restoring the Scions, due to the Ixal summoning Garuda. As Marques struggles to recall his past upon hearing his true name, Iliud gathers his toolbox. He notes that while he enjoyed their time together, others are now in need of his help. Iliud wishes the three luck as they depart to find Cid's airship.
Father Iliud is last seen in the Waking Sands after the celebration over the fall of the Ultima Weapon. In the main scenario quests added in Patch 2.1, he later provides crucial information on locating F'lhaminn.
