Description
The igneous saber is a weapon for Cloud in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It starts with six unlinked materia slots, and teaches Cloud the Blade Burst ability, which costs one ATB charge and unleashes a magic-based attack over an area in front of Cloud. The weapon's attributes gear Cloud heavily toward physical damage output, while the weapon skills are varied.

The igneous saber is found in a treasure chest in chapter 11, "The Long Shadow of Shinra", in Mt. Nibel. It is found on top of a metal platform along the east rock wall in the Northern Ridge - Upper Level of the mountain.

Use[]
The igneous saber heavily gears Cloud toward physical damage. It has the highest Attack Power of his weapons, but the lowest Magic Attack. Most of Cloud's abilities outside of Blade Burst are based on physical damage, meaning that he is well-suited to this role. However, his natural MP and magic attack attribute mean that specializing Cloud entirely in physical damage can somewhat miss out on this potential.
The weapon skills provided by igneous saber are varied. Many improve Cloud's damage in Punisher Mode, where his physical damage will stem from, while others improve his durability overall.
Compared to other weapons, 
Sleek Saber is slightly more balanced, and has weapon skills that improve Cloud's ATB] buildup. This means players who wish to gear Cloud toward physical damage but not entirely sacrifice his magic damage may prefer to use sleek saber. Other weapons outside of these are typically balanced to both attributes, or gear Cloud to magic damage. Among weapons for Cloud's durability, Umbral Blade gives him more weapon skills for this purpose than igneous saber.
