Stats[]

Battle[]

FFVI iOS Fira

Fira (2014).

Ifrit uses physical attacks and Fire Fire-elemental magic. If attacked by magic three times, Ifrit will counter with Firaga, likely killing a party member. When damaged five times in any way, Ifrit retreats and is replaced by Shiva. When either of them is defeated, the battle ends. Shiva has slightly less HP, but only a few hundred so neither is any easier to defeat than the other.

When Ifrit swaps places with Shiva, the player can run away during the transition and win the battle this way. Since there is no enemy present during the transition, the party can successfully flee. The reason behind this is that Ifrit and Shiva's formation does not have the "no run" flag activated.

Strategy[]

The battle is won by fleeing during the transition when Ifrit swaps places with Shiva, but this is an unintended glitch.

Blitz, Bushido, Tools are effective against both, Ifrit and Shiva, and Blizzard and Fire are also powerful (Blizzard against Ifrit and Fire against Shiva).

Since Celes is in the party, using her Runic neutralizes almost all of Ifrit's and Shiva's attacks.

Etymology[]

In Arabian mythology, Ifrit (also spelled Efreet or Afreet, from Arabic عفريت Ifrīt), is the name given to a class of Jinn (Demons also known as Djinn, Djinni, and Genie) that embody fire. Though they could live for thousands of years, they were not immortal, and if cut, they would "bleed" the fire running through their veins until it consumed their bodies.
