VIICC Hellfire

Hellfire.

Being a Fire-elemental summon, Ifrit is vulnerable to Ice-based attacks. A single Blizzard spell will likely inflict 500 points of damage. Ifrit will occasionally attack, and interrupt Zack's materia use. Ifrit's special attack, Hellfire, is unavoidable once it initiates.

In Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, Ifrit takes a moment to charge his Hellfire, whose power can be cut or the ability can even be canceled altogether if Ifrit is attacked during this period.

Strategy[]

If Zack kills enough Wutai troops during his Fort Tamblin mission, he will receive a Fire Armlet from Lazard, which can be equipped for the first battle against Ifrit to take less damage from its attacks.

The player should rush to Ifrit, then attack it continuously with sword slashes. Ice spells work well. In Reunion, when Ifrit begins to charge his Hellfire, he is a good target for Blizzard spells as he cannot dodge them, and the player can also use any limit breaks they have stored up.

Etymology[]

In Arabian mythology, Ifrit (also spelled Efreet or Afreet, from Arabic عفريت Ifrīt), is the name given to a class of Jinn (Demons also known as Djinn, Djinni, and Genie) that embody fire. Though they could live for thousands of years, they were not immortal, and if cut, they would "bleed" the fire running through their veins until it consumed their bodies.
