The Ice Gigas (アイスギガース, Aisugigāsu?), also known as the F.GIANT or FROST GIANT, is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. It is an ice-aspected member of the giant family.

The Ice Gigas, also known as the F.GIANT or FROST GIANT, is an enemy first encountered in the Cavern of Ice. It can later be found around Gaia, Onrac, and the Waterfall Cavern, as well as within the Chaos Shrine. When first encountered in the Cavern of Ice it is a stronger enemy, and often appears alongside packs of Winter Wolves. Using Fire-based spells is recommended and can easily finish it off. Once encountered again in the Chaos Shrine, it is of little threat.
Final Fantasy II[]
The Ice Gigas is one of three elemental gigas encountered in the Mysidian Tower as bosses, and later as regular enemies in Pandaemonium.

Etymology[]
Gigas is a popular term for races of giants in fantasy games. Gigas is a Greek word meaning "giant", originally used to describe the race of Gigantes in Greek mythology and is used in the scientific name, as the specific epithet, of hundreds of species of animals and dozens of plant species to denote their size.
