Use[]
Ice is a mediocre element, as no enemies absorb, halve, or nullify Ice, but not many are weak to the element either. This makes the element relatively safe to use in any fight as opposed to Fire or Earth. If the player is looking for strong Ice-elemental attacks to use, they may choose Ice2, Ice3, Shiva, and Ice Crystal for groups, and Freeze for single targets. The player may also opt to try to use Kujata, Typhon, and Magic Breath, but will have to beware in case the enemy resists the other elements of the attacks.
During the Midgar section of the game, Ice is mostly a neutral element, with the exception of a couple enemies that resist it. Outside of Midgar, until the player reaches the western continent, Ice remains a neutral element, while on the western continent Ice has a few uses, in particular around the Corel Area. From there, the Ice element remains neutral around the Wutai continent and southern islands, while the northern continent, Ice is the least useful as most enemies are Ice-elemental in nature.
In regards to protection, Ice is only really needed protected against while traversing the northern continent, in particular around the Great Glacier and Gaea's Cliff. Outside of there, the player does not need to protect against Ice very much at all.
