Hundred Fists (百烈拳, Hyakuretsuken?, lit. One Hundred Fierce Fists) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series usually associated with monks.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy XI[]

Hundred Fists is Monk's special job ability at level 1. The user's attack delay is cut by 75% for 30 seconds. Though, it effects primarily hand-to-hand weapons, the technique works with any weapon type usable by Monks. This allows Monks to perform successive attacks almost non-stop for the period of this effect. This does not increase or decrease the Monk's Accuracy, but it does increase the number of attacks they can make drastically, thereby greatly boosting their damage potential. The increase in damage could draw unwanted enmity, though, since Monks are one of the highest damaging jobs.

It is also an enemy ability used by Valor and Gurfurlur.

Final Fantasy XIII-2[]

Hundred Fists is a Feral Link performed by most flan-type monsters. It hits enemies within range multiple times.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Hundred Fists was the capstone ability for Pugilist Pugilists and Monk Monks in the original release. While active, their auto-attack rate will be boosted. However, this ability could be combined with any other ability that affected auto-attacks.

Player characters no longer learn Hundred Fists as of A Realm Reborn. However, stronger NPC pugilists such as Hamon Holyfist still use the ability on occasion. It grants them the Hundred Fists Hundred Fists status, a stronger version of Haste Haste, which massively reduces their auto-attack delay and cast/recast times, though they generally only use it in conjunction with their auto-attacks.

Hundred Fists is one of Prishe's EX Mode abilities, allowing an increase in her movement speed and also allows her to chain up to three weapon skills in a combo, performing the follow-up attack twice and possibly resulting in two skillchains to highly increase her damage output.

Final Fantasy Trading Card Game[]

Hundred Fists is an ability usable by one of Prishe's cards. By discarding another Prishe card and paying one Lightning CP, the player discards their entire hand to make Prishe active and allow her to attack again the same turn.
