Ollier is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is one of the Manderville Gold Saucer attendants that appeared in the seasonal event The Make It Rain Campaign in 2021.

History[]

Early life[]

Coming from a poor refugee family, Hugue lived alone with his mother. One day, when his mother's birthday was approaching, Hugue decided he would do something to make her happy. He stole a ring to give to her as a present. He regretted it almost immediately, but it was too late. Hugue was soon arrested and dismissed from his job as a laborer. With no money and no job that would accept a thief, Hugue fell into despair. When he had already given up, Godbert Manderville, the owner of the gold ring that Hugue tried to steal, made him swear that he would never steal again and offered him a position as an attendant on the Gold Saucer.[1]

Ollier has asked the Warrior of Light for help in solving a robbery and clearing Hugue who has been wrongly accused as the prime suspect. In the lounge, Ollier briefs him on the details of the incident in question. Hugue has become a suspect primarily because of his proximity to the scene of the crime, as well as a prior theft he committed years ago. Ollier, however, remains convinced that the real culprit can be found elsewhere. With Master Roland's blessing, the Warrior of Light conducted an investigation on their own. To expedite their investigation, Ollier handed over a journal that could be used to record any testimony or observations of the crime scene and surroundings.

After the investigations, the Warrior of Light shares his deductions before a tribunal presided over by Ollier, Master Roland, the Captain Daluce. After a series of arguments, it is revealed that the culprit was actually Brass Blade Pipimaya. Sasapano, Pipimaya's twin brother, went undercover to arrange an alibi for his brother while he was stealing the Sabotender Emperador horn.

Pipimaya explained that they had a younger brother who was stricken with a rare and almost untreatable disease. When they learned that their brother had little time remaining, Pipimaya and Sasapano were devastated and determined to at least fulfill his greatest dream: the dream of sailing on his own Sabotender Emperador. Hoping to fulfill their brother's last wish, Pipimaya and Sasapano embarked on a quest to amass as much MGP as we could muster. They realized that they would not be able to put it together in time. In their desperation, they came up with the idea of stealing the horn while the hustle and bustle of the festival distracted the attendants.

Hugue sympathized with the brothers' plight and begged that they get a lighter punishment. Godbert Manderville appears on the scene and says that as the owner of the Manderville Gold Saucer, he was gifting Pipimaya and Sasapano with a Sabotender Emperador on the house. Which means that no theft would have occurred. Godbert says that in return they should repay my gift by performing a period of community service under his direct supervision.[1]
