The Holy Dragon (ホーリードラゴン, Hōrīdoragon?), also known as White Drgn and WhitDrgn, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, debuting in Final Fantasy VI. As its name suggests, it is often a dragon that uses Holy-elemental or healing abilities, including the powerful Holy spell.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy[]
The Holy Dragon is an enemy exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary releases. It can most easily be found in Lifespring Grotto amongst the dragon fixed encounters spawned by Dark Bahamut; it is otherwise extremely rare, having a 1/64 chance of appearing only in the flooded castle if it appears on the final floors of Whisperwind Cove. It fights using powerful physical attacks and the Holy spell.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Holy Dragon, also known as the White Drgn or WhitDrgn, is an enemy fought at Cultists' Tower. It attacks only with Holy, making it one of the easiest of the Eight legendary dragons as the player can come into the battle with Auto-Reflect from the Reflect Ring. It has the lowest HP of the dragons and is also vulnerable to silence. In the Game Boy Advance and 2014 versions, the player can refight it at the Dragons' Den, where it counters all attacks on it with Curaga and comes with Auto-Regen. In addition, it now attacks using powerful attacks such as Saintly Beam, Holy, Heavenly Wrath, and Heartless Angel.
Final Fantasy Tactics[]
The Holy Dragon is an obtainable unit that fights using the three elemental abilities Fire Breath, Ice Breath, and Thunder Breath. It is found in the lowest level of the Mining Town of Gollund, specifically the Gollund Coal Shaft. Upon completing Nelveska Temple with both the Holy Dragon and Beowulf in the party, the Holy Dragon will become its human form, Reis; the Holy Dragon cannot be reobtained, though Reis retains all of its abilities.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]
The Holy Dragon is a recurring boss, first appearing as the boss of Ramza's Lost Chapter, The Hero of Ivalice.
