Hojo is a boss in Final Fantasy VII encountered near the control area of the Sister Ray at the end of "Mako Cannon Rampage". Cloud and his party arrive right as he is about to launch the giant cannon. This is the first part of a three-part battle.

Hojo doesn't attack but gets aid from his two samples, the Bad Rap Sample and the Poodler Sample, with the Capsule ability. He will instantly bring out another replacement monster if either minion is defeated.
Strategy[]
The player should avoid wasting MP against this form, and use physical attacks to defeat Hojo. If the Samples cause problems, one can simply use Stop-inflicting attacks to keep them from attacking, or use Bad Breath or Hades.
