Henchman Moogles are mission bosses from Final Fantasy XI: A Moogle Kupo d'Etat - Evil in Small Doses. They assist Riko Kupenreich in the battlefield Smash! A Malevolent Menace.

Henchman Moogles are summoned in a total of three instances in battle, with 5 Henchman Moogles summoned each time. The first two times are when Riko Kupenreich returns to heal in his first two phases and the last time is when he is at 50% HP in his third phase. This means that a total of 15 Henchman Moogles can be fought in the battlefield. It should also be noted that the Henchman Moogles in the third phase of the battlefield do not have to be defeated to win.

There are also two Henchman Moogles that appear to cast Cure V on Riko when he has retreated to heal, but they are completely invulnerable and disappear when he returns to battle.

The Henchman Moogles will immediately start casting offensive magic spells when they are summoned. Each moogle has an elemental base, which is shown by what it casts. They also have their own set of special moves that they can use regularly due to their potent auto regain.

Henchman Moogles, like Riko Kupenreich take enhanced damage from all sources.

Special Abilities[]

  • Flowerpot: Single target damage, blind, stun, amnesia
  • Mog Bomb: AoE fire damage
  • Mog Shrapnel: Conal damage

Etymology[]

The moogle's Japanese name, Mōguri (モーグリ), is a portmanteau of the words for mole (土竜, mogura?) and bat (蝙蝠, kōmori?). "Moogle" is the localized version of Mōguri, losing the pun, though "moogle" has started to appear in Japanese sources as well.
