Heel Drop

Heel Drop in Final Fantasy VIII.

Heel Drop (かかと落とし, Kakato Otoshi?), also known as Heel Kick and Divekick, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It was originally introduced as a Limit Break used by Zell Dincht in Final Fantasy VIII, and later returned as an ability used by Tifa Lockhart in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Divekick is one of Tifa's weapon abilities, learned from the Leather Gloves. As the weapon is her default weapon, the ability is learned near-instantly. The ability consumes one ATB charge and causes her to leap to the air, spin, and perform a diving kick toward her opponent. The ability deals strong damage, but is best when performed in a combo using it after she is already in the air (such as after Whirling Uppercut or Focused Strike), shaving off the first half of the animation time and causing her to instantly kick.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Main article: Divekick (VII Rebirth)

Divekick returns as an ability for Tifa and is once again learned from her default Leather Gloves. Again, it consumes an ATB charge to perform the attack from the air, dealing strong physical damage. Similarly, it is best performed after she is already in the air to shave off animation time and use it more effectively.

Final Fantasy VIII

Heel Drop is a Limit Break for Zell, used by inputting whenever the command appears, generally after Booya or Punch Rush, but sometimes after Mach Kick. It deals non-elemental physical damage to one target with a power of 20.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Heel Drop is an ability usable by Zell after using the abilities Punch Rush or Booya. It deals physical damage to one enemy with a 2x modifier, and when used from used from Booya, enables access to Meteor Strike and Burning Rave for 2 turns.

Divekick is an ability for Star Traveller Tifa, learned at level 1. It deals physical damage to one enemy with a 400x multiplier and reduces Fire, Water, and Light-elemental resistances by 130% for 3 turns to one enemy at the cost of 150 MP. It utilizes the Absolute Mirror of Equity chain family.
