Defense and +13 to 
Magic Defense. It is good to equip for physical protection and is the best physical defense armor at the time it becomes available.

A heavy-duty bracer is stolen from Rude atop the Sector 7 Pillar during "Showdown" in Chapter 12, "Fight for Survival".
A heavy-duty bracer is found during "Checking on Friends" in the Bandits' Den in the Collapsed Expressway in Chapter 13, "A Broken World".
Heavy-duty bracer is available from shops from Chapter 13, "A Broken World", onwards. It costs 4800 gil. In "Episode INTERmission", it can be bought from the Sector 7 Slums weapon store and from vending machines thereafter since the start of the episode.
