Fully restores HP of party.

Description

Healing Water is an item in Final Fantasy X used in battle by the Use command. It is a restorative item that restores all HP to the party. Its primary use is with the Mix command to many useful effects, though it can also be used to teach the Alchemy auto-ability onto a weapon, or to teach the Pray command to an aeon.

Healing Waters are relatively rare items to come by, with the primary use being in restorative mixes as its customized and taught abilities are fairly weak. As an alternative, the more common Healing Spring can produce the same mixes while being easier to acquire.

Obtained[]

Healing Water is a rare item to come by, and multiple are needed to train abilities. It is a common steal from the Adamantoise, though only one can be stolen at a time. Anacondaurs will yield approximately 16 when bribed for 145,000 gil. While this is much more time-efficient in the short term, it is considerably less gil-efficient.

Use[]

Use command[]

Healing Water fully restores the party's HP when used by the Use command. Rikku can take advantage of this early on, though later when more party members have access to the Use command, it can be a turn-efficient means of curing the entire party at once. Overall, however, Healing Waters are better saved for mixes.

Aeon ability[]

Aeons can be taught the Pray command with 5 Healing Waters. Though Pray provides a turn-free heal and will be powerful due to Yuna's naturally high Magic stat, aeons have better ways of healing themselves (such as Curaga or casting a spell of their element on themselves), making this an inefficient use. It is better instead to save them for mixes.

Customize[]

The Alchemy auto-ability can be customized on weapons for 4 Healing Waters. Alchemy causes all healing items used by the character to double in effectiveness, and adds 8000 gil to the weapon's value. Because of the abundance of healing items, mixes, or Wht Mag spells that simply heal the entire party for low cost, and the relatively low value added by Alchemy, this is an inefficient use of Healing Water.

Mix[]

FFX Mix Ultra NullAll

Ultra NulAll.

Healing Water's most potent use is when mixed with a variety of restorative items for powerful restorative effects. In particular, Ultra NulAll—which greatly improves the party's stats and resistances—and Super Elixir—which fully heals the entire party as well as removing all negative status effects—are extremely useful in challenging superboss battles, including against Penance, the ultimate boss. The primary drawback to Healing Waters are how difficult they are to acquire compared to Healing Springs, which can produce the same mixes.

Etymology[]

Healing water refers to mineral water. Traditionally, mineral waters were used or consumed at their spring sources, often referred to as "taking the waters" or "taking the cure", at developed cities such as spas, baths, or wells.
