Job menu description

The Hawkeye (トマホーク, Tomahōku?, lit. Tomahawk) is an asterisk that appears in Bravely Second: End Layer. It is obtained after defeating Aimee Matchlock.

The Hawkeye specializes in dealing physical damage in copious amounts to various targets, being capable of using all elements and even piercing both default and physical defense with their Shamanism abilities. With their innate ability Eagle Eye, failing to hit the target is incredibly unlikely, if not impossible.

Profile[edit | edit source]

In the Japanese release, Hawkeye is designed after Native American outfits. In the overseas release, the Hawkeye's design was changed to a cowboy theme.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

In the overseas versions of the game, the Hawkeye wears western cowboy-themed attires with fringed clothing, spurred boots, and cowboy hats. The males wear fringed jackets with V-necks and a choker and the females wear bikini tops. Yew has a white V-neck, brown gloves, and his pants tucked into his boots. Tiz has a cropped jacket with a deeper black V-neck and wears bracelets with fringe and his pants are over his boots. Edea wears fringed pants and has a belt on her top and her bow becomes beige and white. Magnolia wears fringed chaps over black pants and her top and sleeves are fringed as well, her hair is tied into a long braid similar to Aimee's. Each of the characters wear a unique hat: Yew has a horseshoe on it that's in a similar shape to the letter U, Tiz has a star on his, Edea has small bows around her hat along with her own bow, and Magnolia has little flowers around it alongside her Magnolia flower with the petals on the outside becoming brown.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Hawk is a common name for small to medium-sized diurnal birds of prey known for having high visual acuity.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Hawkeye is the only job to change in the overseas release. Initially, it had a Native American theme but was changed to a cowboy theme. This change is likely due to controversies regarding real life historic and racial issues of Native Americans in the Americas, specifically that of their depiction in modern day culture and society. Strangely, their Shamanism ability seems to have been unchanged.
