Handeloup de Daimbaux also known as Handeloup of the One Heart is a non-player character from Final Fantasy XIV. He is the second commander of the Temple Knights.
History[]
Early life[]
Before joining the order of Temple Knights, Handeloup married a childhood friend and the two had a daughter together who is now seven years old. He earned a reputation for being an excellent leader and Ser Aymeric de Borel noticed his talents and named him second commander. He oversees general logistics and Temple Knights training.[1]
Handeloup lived in the Firmament before it was razed to the ground.[2]
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward[]
Because the chainmail armor is not practical for the cold that came after the Calamity, Ser Ortefauchel proposes to buy leather armor made in Elde's workshop. Ser Handeloup goes personally to watch the test to see if the armors are as resistant as the chain armors. Satisfied with the result, Ser Handeloup promises that he will try to persuade the Holy See to abandon tradition and adopt the new leather armor.[3]
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail[]
Handeloup was informed by Firmalbert when Tentoawa and Loazenikwe came from Tural to search for Leophyne, an expelled Temple Knight who had stolen their village's treasure, the Cradle of the Sleepless. Leophyne was using the relic's power to force the Temple Knights to fall asleep while on duty, thus damaging their reputation.
Tentoawa and the Warrior of Light gathered information suggesting that Leophyne might target a delegation to Ok' Zundu as part of her plot against the Temple Knights. Concerned about this potential threat, they went to the Congregation to warn Ser Handeloup. Upon hearing their warning, Handeloup admitted that he shared their concerns and was considering postponing the delegation for safety reasons. The Warrior of Light and Tentoawa proposed that the delegation could be used as bait to draw Leophyne out of hiding, promising that no harm would come to either the Vanu Vanu or Ishgardians under their protection. After considering their suggestion, Handeloup agreed, seeing merit in the plan. He promised to discuss the proposal with the lord commander and initiate a joint operation to capture Leophyne.[4]
Ser Handeloup contacted Sonu Vanu explaining the situation and the Zundu agreed to help with the operation. After informing Tentoawa and his companions, they traveled to the Sea of Clouds where they faced Leophyne. With the Cradle of the Sleepless back in its rightful hands and Leophyne seemingly vanquished, Tentoawa and Loazenikwe returned to Ishgard to report their success. Handeloup expressed deep gratitude, noting how the bond between Ishgard and Ok' Zundu had grown stronger through their shared struggle.[5]
