Description
Gysahl Greens are status-healing items in Final Fantasy IX used to remove Berserk, a status abnormality that makes the affected attack wantonly. Gysahl Greens are chocobos' favorite food and allow the player to call Choco when used near chocobo tracks on the world map. They can also be used in synthesis to make Phoenix Pinions.
Gysahl Greens are recurring chocobo feed items in the Final Fantasy series.
Obtain[]
Gysahl Greens are commonly found as treasures during the Chocobo Hot and Cold minigame and also bought from Mene in Hot and Cold play sites for 10 points.
A Gysahl Green is also found in Cleyra's Trunk 
and in the chocobo hut in Black Mage Village 
. Eight Gysahl Greens form part of the Forgotten Lagoon chocograph treasure 
: the player must first have acquired the Blue Narciss and Choco's reef ability to be able to dig up the Chocograph in Chocobo's Lagoon.
Use[]
Gysahl Greens are used to remove Berserk, which is one of the few statuses the player cannot protect against with support abilities (other than Auto-Reflect). This can be useful against Dragonfly, Hornet, Troll, Armstrong, Anemone, the final boss, and Ozma.
However, their more common use is for calling on Choco on chocobo footprints found around the world map as part of the chocobo sidequest:
