Gyr Abania [ˌɡɪər əˈbɑː.ni.ə] (ギラバニア, Gi Rabania?) is a region of Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV. It is on the northeastern corner of Aldenard, bordered by the Black Shroud, Xelphatol, and the continent of Ilsabard. It contains the city-state of Ala Mhigo, which was conquered by the Garlean Empire before the events of the game. The area was first made accessible in the Stormblood expansion.
Due to the threats of primals summoned by the beast-tribes of Eorzea, the towering Baelsar's Wall was built along the border.
Profile[]
A region formerly controlled by the city-state of Ala Mhigo. Located in the eastern reaches of Abalathia's Spine, surrounded by perilous mountains, the area was known for its strict devotion to the deity Rhalgr. This changed, however, after the occupation as the area's temples were laid to waste.
