Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
The Guard appears as a trio of guest characters that appear during Edward's tale. They accompany Edward to the Impact Crater in search of Harley, and subsequently escort Edward and Harley through the Underground Waterway to Kaipo. When Harley is struck with desert fever, the guards remain behind to watch over her while Edward heads to the Antlion's Den in search of a cure. When Harley is cured, the group boards a ship to Baron and the guards are not seen again, aside from appearing in Edward's Challenge Dungeon.
The guards are basic characters with no special abilities. They can equip a basic assortment of swords and heavy equipment, and have minor variation in their stats.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Guard appears as an enemy encountered in Narshe during the start of the game. It is a very weak foe and is easily dispatched.
The Final Fantasy Legend[]
The Guard appears as an enemy encountered on the fifth floor of the Tower.
Final Fantasy Legend II[]
The Trooper appears as an enemy encountered in the Desert Town and Ashura's Tower.
Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade[]
The Guard from Final Fantasy VI appears as an enemy.
Etymology[]
Trooper (abbr. Tpr) from the French "troupier" is the equivalent rank to private in a regiment with a cavalry tradition in the British Army and many other Commonwealth armies, including those of Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.
