Guado Guardian is an enemy in Final Fantasy X. Two are fought alongside Seymour during the boss battle in Macalania Temple. Shortly after, several Guado Guardians will give chase as the party escapes, and two more are later fought alongside the Wendigo at Lake Macalania. Guado Guardians are again fought in Home, where they are stronger than in previous encounters.
With Seymour, the Guardians will first cast Protect on themselves while Seymour casts Shell. The Guardians will cover Seymour from physical attacks and heal themselves with Hi-Potions when damaged; this can be prevented by stealing from them. They are vulnerable to Petrification, particularly Kimahri's Stone Breath.
If Seymour falls below 4,800 HP and the Guardians still have access to Hi-Potions, they will use them on Seymour. If he is afflicted with Poison, they will use Remedies. Should a Guardian be afflicted with Silence or Poison, they will use a Remedy on themselves. Otherwise, the Guardians have a 50% chance of doing nothing and an even chance of using Thunder, Blizzard, or Shremedy, which has a 50% chance to inflict Confusion.
When Guado Guardians engage the party while escaping Macalania Temple, they will open each encounter by summoning two Evil Eyes, a Mafdet and an Ice Flan, or a Snow Wolf and a Mafdet. If any fiends are active, the Guardians have a 50% to cast Berserk on them. If Provoked, the Guardians will use Thundara.
Two Guado Guardians are fought alongside Wendigo. Though they won't summon additional enemies, they will use Eye Drops on Wendigo to cure Darkness, cast Berserk on it, and either attack with Thundara or Blizzara or heal Wendigo with Auto-Potion, unless disabled. On death, the Guardians will cast Protect and Shell respectively on Wendigo; Petrification will prevent this, though ejecting the Guardians will not. If Wendigo is defeated before the Guardians, they will need to be defeated as well.
If Lulu is present, Guado Guardians have a 50% chance to use Fira on the party member with the lowest HP, a 33% chance to use Confuse on Lulu, and a 16.5% chance to use Silence on her. If Lulu is not present and they are accompanied by Bombs, they have a 66% chance to cast Reflect on them. Otherwise, they have a 33% chance to cast NulFrost when paired with Bombs, and when paired with other enemies, their Fira will target the party member with the lowest HP. If Provoked, the Guardians will use Fire.
