The Green Soul, also known as the Screamer, is an enemy from Final Fantasy II. It absorbs all elements, so only physical attacks or non-elemental spells can damage it. However, the Green Soul is a very friendly enemy: it will repeatedly cast Cure VI on the player party instead of healing its allies. It can be manipulated to make dungeon-crawling a bit easier, especially in the taxing hallways of Fynn Castle. A Green Soul group "guards" a treasure chest in the lower left area of Deist Cavern's second basement level, which holds a Mage Staff.

The soul, in many religious, philosophical, psychological, and mythological traditions, is the incorporeal and, in many conceptions, immortal essence of a person, living thing, or object.
In the older translation, Green Soul was called Screamer. Screamer is a person who screams or wails, creatures or entities who screams are found in mythologies or folklores across the world. The most famous one is the Banshee.
