The Green M-phone (also known as the Green M-Phone[1]) is a weapon for Cait Sith in Final Fantasy VII. It is available at Cosmo Canyon, and has stats on-par with weapons available for other characters from there. It has four Materia slots, all of which are linked.

As with other Cait Sith weapons, the Green M-phone itself does not strike an enemy, but commands his Mog, meaning Cait Sith's damage is still Hit rather than Shout. However, its Attack stat still counts towards damage dealt.

Obtained[]

The Green M-phone is purchased for 2,400 gil from Cosmo Canyon.

Mechanics[]

As the Green M-phone has a base Attack stat bonus of 41, the base damage for physical attacks when the Green M-phone equipped is in the following formula:

where "Level" is Cait Sith's current level and "Strength" is his Strength stat. The Green M-phone also has an Attack% (Accuracy) of 100%, and grants a +9 bonus to Cait Sith's Magic stat.

The Green M-phone is available for Cait Sith after reaching Cosmo Canyon. It is the most powerful weapon for Cait Sith at that point, though two comparable weapons with different niches are available shortly after: the Black M-phone with double AP growth and the Silver M-phone with eight unlinked Materia slots. Green M-phone is still nonetheless the most well-rounded weapon for Cait Sith.

The Green M-phone has four Materia slots, all of which are linked. As Cait Sith has one of the best Magic stats in the game, and his physical damage his fairly unreliable, these slots should be used for Magic Materia and Summon Materia, with an All Materia paired with Magic Materia. Cait Sith can also be given Independent Materia if it plays into this role.

The Green M-phone is the best rounded weapon for Cait Sith, though it is best to focus him towards spellcasting. As such, the Silver M-phone may be a more attractive choice for him, and can be obtained in the Mansion shortly after Cosmo Canyon. Though the Silver M-phone's slots are unlinked, the tradeoff is overall worth it for Cait Sith especially if he uses armor with linked slots. Cait Sith can also use the Black M-phone from the Cave of the Gi, with the same number of slots as the Green M-phone and weaker stats, but with double AP growth.
