Greater Behemoth is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. It can be found in the Fifth Ark.

Battle[edit | edit source]

Greater Behemoth initially has access to Heave, a powerful physical attack that launches one party member in the air. After losing approximately half of its HP, the Greater Behemoth stands on two legs and becomes more powerful and faster. It can inflict Pain when in an upright position.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

The party can try to Stagger it, then launch it. Although the Greater Behemoth is not immune to status ailments, it has such good resistance it is probably not worth using a Saboteur.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity."
